Dates / Date Ramaki


Ingredients

  • 8 oz. AMPORT pitted dates
  • 12 - 6" strips lean bacon
  • 8 oz. can sliced water chestnuts
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup dry sherry
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Directions

    Partially cook bacon strips. Stuff a single AMPORT date with 1-2 slices of water chestnuts. Wrap stuffed date with 6" bacon strip. Place a toothpick through the wrapped date to secure all ingredients. Dissolve brown sugar into mixture of teriyaki, soy sauce, sherry and lemon juice. Marinate Ramaki for minimum of 1 hour (rotate Ramaki to make sure they're well marinated). Broil for 7-10 minutes until bacon is crisp (you may need to turn once to prevent burning). Makes 12.
